Gaming is rapidly going mobile, and the industry will reach new heights in 2016. It is bigger screens and more powerful configurations that have launched mobile devices into a gaming orbit. New titles are hitting digital shelves every day, and it is confusing to navigate this abundant gaming world. There are games that grab your attention and keep it for hours, and others you can play while waiting for a bus.
Plants Vs Zombies 2
A sequel to the tower defense classic is the cream of the crop in its genre. Players side with the forces of Nature to defeat an incoming zombie menace. This addictive fantasy game with vivid visuals can devour a lot of spare time because of the near-endless replay value. As the player progresses through stages, new challenges are put before him, as well as rich rewards. It is also a free-to-play game with a ton of content that can be unlocked without paying a dime.
Cut The Rope
When it comes to puzzle games, Cut the Rope is second to none. The goal is to feed the candies to an adorable little critter called Om Nom. And as the name suggests, it has quite an appetite. To fill that green belly, players must solve puzzles and cut that rope holding the candy. Do not let the cutesy graphics put you off guard because the game becomes tough in later stages. Om Nom is always so close to desired sweets and you cannot help but to give him a hand.
Dragon Heroes
Those who want to jump into the fantasy realm as a daring hero should look no further than this game. This is a vertical-scrolling shooter with some RPG elements that enrich the gameplay. The formidable dragons are guardians waiting at the end of the each level. To stand any chance against these monsters, users acquire new skills and unlock more powerful heroes. The shooting mechanics are sublime and the game has a nice arcade vibe.
The Walking Dead: Road to Survival
The horde of zombies strikes again, just there are no plants to help you this time. Have no fear though, because in the base-building part of the game, players set up an infrastructure for the survival of mankind. However, they must also embark on missions and raids outside the base. The turn-based combat is story-driven, and plays just nicely. Furthermore, it is possible to face other players online and fight with them over supplies.
Poptropica
Upon creating an avatar in Poptropica, user can embark on a series of quests on picturesque islands. Each conceals its own mystery that needs to be solved, after which a player gets a medallion. On one of the islands, the Poptropica mythology island, the Zeus seeks a hero, who must fight monsters, descend to the dangerous underworlds and explore the depths of the ocean. There are my riad of other islands, including a Red Dragon Island, Reality TV and Mystery Train.
Reckless Racing 3
This one is, hands down, one of the most entertaining racing games on the market. It has an isometric view, and watching the frenetic spectacle from above is thoroughly enjoying. There are four on-screen controls, and it all handles like clockwork. This is not to say that Reckless Racing is easy, as the car constantly slides, and keeping it in tracks is an imposing task. Add to that realistic graphics, and you got yourself the favorite way to spend a pastime.
Tap & Sweep
There was nothing wrong with 2015, but this year is shaping up to be even more thrilling. More and more titles are coming out, and studios both big and small compete for the booming Android market. While some games cost you some green, others are free-to-play. What they have in common though is great fun with long hours of tapping and sweeping.
